Revolution Taco - Easy Dinner in the Neighborhood
Although both A and I love to eat, neither of us has a particular passion for cooking. I think I like the idea of cooking more than I actually like cooking, so the only time I'll make dinner is when I have the time and energy. Given that I'm in medical school, those two things coinciding is rare... so basically we eat a ton of take out. However, on the occasions which we don't feel like eating in our apartment, Revolution Taco is a favored stop in our rotation for a low-key dinner out.
I would say that the tacos at Revolution are generally not the best or most authentic I've ever had, but solidly good, with some of their options verging on greatness. Specifically, their salmon tacos with mango salsa, which is sometimes available as their "fish option" is my go-to option. The salmon is always tender and flavorful. The salsa has some mild heat, but the main attraction is the bright juiciness of the mango which really compliments the salmon.
They also have a hot sauce bar with 4-6 different choices, which is right up my alley. The verde option is a favorite of mine, and goes great with the salmon tacos.
A got a cheese and meat empanada, which was delicious on it's own, unsurprisingly given it's combination of meat + cheese + carbs + deep fried, but especially good with the a tangy green sauce that came on the side. A also got two al pastor tacos but was extremely hungry and starting eating them before I could get a picture. A theme that I'm sure will be fairly common on this blog.
Revolution Taco is fast casual -- order at the counter and wait for your name to be called. Seating is fairly limited, although I've never had to wait for a table. I think they do a lot of take out business. Price point is good, with tacos costing in the $7-10 dollar range for 2, which sounds pricier now that I type it out, but the tacos are definitely on the hefty side and 2 tacos can suffice as a meal for me.
TL;DR - Revolution Taco is not the last word on tacos, but a great addition to the neighborhood that A and I will continue to frequent. Fish tacos + empanadas make me happy.
